When in France we had had a lot of problems with a crooked notaire. I gave his bank details to the philanthropist who contacted us.

It has been a while since I have received those particular emails. And I don’t miss them. Mind you, I continue to get others – including one that purports to come from my isp saying that my latest payment failed and asking me to click on a link to update my payment details. Not a happening thing sunshine.

Yesterday for the first time I received one of those text messages, “Dad, I’ve lost my phone. Can you call me on this number”. It’s a years old scam and not terribly imaginative, but I’ve heard of cases when it has worked.

In all my years as a hospice RN, I never heard of any of my patients wanting to share what little funds they had with the world! What a bizarre scam! Linda in Kansas

Compared to these examples all my spam are uninventive and boring — mostly Russian (recently more Ukrainian) women, potency drugs and “your parcel could not be delivered”-types.

Lately just the ‘parcel could not be delivered’ stuff. I had no idea I’d been buying stuff online until then. I’ve spent several thousand pounds now and I’m still waiting for the parcels to arrive….🙄😏😎

I think my email must filter these things out because I’ve never seen one. Of course the down side of a filtering system is thaty sometimes it grabs the wrong thing so I check spam daily, just in case
