There’s a bear in there

You never know what you’ll see in a strange country
Not far out of the town of Juneau in Alaska there is a fabulous glacier
Just a short bus ride down the road
No boat or helicopter needed to see this one lol
On the day we were there this is what we also saw
A small black bear who happened to be brown
The ranger is this area said he/she (I didn’t hear what gender) was young
and had been seen on its own for a little while
We were on a bridge/walkway close to a small stream
when we saw the bear
looking for the salmon that pass up through the fish gate
There must be days when dinner can come easily
or not as the case may be lol
Remember they are wild animals the ranger said
Not for cuddling!!
Then his/her head lifted
Maybe it heard some of the crowd noise even tho’ most there were trying to be quiet
and the little bear was off like a shot
Hence the blurred photo

  1. How darling. What a cutie bear and you got some good shots of him/her. ;)Your glacier reminds me of Svartisen (the black glacier) in Norway. We were able to sail right up to it in the ship and took pictures from the deck. No journey off the ship to see it.I love your cruise pictures. I hope you have plenty more to come. :)Hugs,Lois

  2. How nice you got a good look at the bear. We have lots of bears around here. They are no paricularly dangerous to people but need to be treated with respect as wild animals.I remember years ago going up in the Athabasca glacier. They are astonishing phenomena.

  3. Oh my- what a wonderful photo of you and your husband! We have been there also!! We did the Alaska cruise twice and loved it so much! Great photos of the bear! I can not imagine that long long flight that you made to be able to go on this cruise! (I will never complain about a long flight again!)Vicki
