Little things bring enjoyment…….
Like the change in season bringing these colourful parrots into the garden. Trouble is they like the Lilly Pilly – the one at the bottom of the garden (at least 20m/65’ away) – but never stay still, flitting around in amongst the leaves and branches trying to find the ‘best berries’ ……then as soon as I start move down off the deck to get closer they’re off and away.
There were several in the tree, one stayed after the others left so here’s a very lucky, very long distance shot when I happened to have my phone handy

Oh wow – that’s so cool! Parrots in the garden!
Also I’m making a shawl named after that plant right now 😊

I do love to see the King Parrots. The one you captured looks to be a fine healthy male. And yes, they can be destructive in the garden but not nearly as bad as the Sulphur Crested Vandals.

That’s quite a good photo. King parrots are certainly more shy than others, and I remember seeing them dominated by cockatoos at Grants Picnic Ground.

Amazing – we don’t get King Parrots but we do get a wide variety of birds. Of late, however, our most prominent visitors have been the Ibis who seem to believe that our backyard is their new territory!

Wow – the parrot makes quite a statement. I think it’s terrific you were able to capture it in a photo. Generally by the time I get close enough or get the camera focused on a bird, he or she is off in flight. Well done.
