Am I the only person who didn’t know this happened…..
In my defence I was living in Singapore on the other side of the world at the time……theatre in London didn’t enter my mind
Dame Judi Dench 1968.
Sit – watch – enjoy……with sound up!

Good to have you and your blog back! Caberet is one of my favorite musicals. Been awhile since I’ve seen a revival of that show.

Thanks for the compliment- I’m trying to get into the swing of regular postings again but sometimes I’m stuck for words.
Seeing Judi Dench in this role just proves her ability to shine in each role she’s taken on. I’ve seen Liza Minelli’s film version but never a live stage show one.

You were not the only one to not know this, and I am surprised that she was in the role. It is not how I really think of Dame Judy.

I agree Andrew, it’s not how we usually view Judi Dench’s work but as a young actress she obviously was keen to try something different…..and succeeded.

I didn’t know it either, but then I was in utero (or otherwise only dreamed of) when it happened! Nice to see. I am listening to Barbra Streisand’s autobiography at the moment and have a whole new respect for the coming together of such shows.

Oh Jeannie, you’re just a wee babe 😊. I’m not a fan of audio books but might just see if the library has that one. Stage musicals are such good fun but cost a small fortune to produce

I’m in agreement with you there – she’s a very talented actress. Nature has dealt her a cruel blow with the diagnosis of macular degeneration
