  1. I saw Tupperware was closing down. I’ve still got a few of their old bowls. They just became too darn expensive and good plastic bowls are 2 a penny now.

How many of us have lost those darn lids though.

  2. I’ve never had any and find the click clack boxes do such a good job and can be bought at any supermarket/hardware shop that I can imagine them having competed t’ware out of the market

  3. I have a few treasured pieces of Tupperware. It is sort of sad that they are going the way of S&H Green Stamps (I don’t know if you had those there… but I remember them well!)

  4. Apparently The Reject Shop is selling Tupperware so there’s still a chance to snap up a bright coloured plastic container and much cheaper than party plan prices

  5. Hi Cathy – I was writing up about something that happened a few years ago and found your comment – sorry that I missed it first go around.

I am a serial sorter of Tupperware drawers -Mum has an awesome collection – I personally think they jumped the shark several years ago when you could no longer stack their wares in the bottom drawer quite so efficiently.

We may no longer have Tupperware, but we still have Sistema, Decor, generic and takeaway containers (oh, and those ever so handy yoghurt containers that my Dad insists on keeping) so those of us with “Tupperware drawer therapy” requirements will still have a handle on sanity available.

  6. Tupperware declaring bankruptcy is the end of an era. Back in the day, I received a few pieces at a bridal shower. I still have a couple of containers. Oh the lids! I’m afraid if I had had my kids at that task, the lids soon would have become frisbees. Every now and then I dump out all the plastic and do a good sort. The odd ones out get recycled.
