Noticed on the first day of Spring (September 1st) – mince pies and other foods – 16 weeks before they would traditionally be eaten.
How soon is too soon?
And the other question is – will they last??.
Wordless Wednesday- when pictures tell the story

The Christmas tat from China is appearing in the shops…..but who wants – or buys – mince pies in September!

Himself will certainly buy a mince pie or two in the coming weeks. And eat one from the packet and leave the others to go stale.

F will eat mince pies any time of year. They are only what her Nana called ‘Fly Cemetery’ in individual pie shape. Slightly different pastry but full of raisins spices sugar and tasty stuff. Fly Cemetery could be eaten any time Narna made it but it was a real treat because the fruit was expensive (for us).

Way too soon. The lead up to Christmas should never start until after the Melbourne Cup.

No no no. Far too early. No signs of Santa around here. I hope. Spit 3 times, shake my clothes and turn myself around.
I am not ready for Xmas. Heavens it’s only just autumn here

Mince pies have been in the supermarkets for a few weeks already in England.. But they now sell hot cross buns all year round and that’s just wrong.

Too soon for sure. I bought some bright paper napkins for a gathering of friends tomorrow evening. They are Halloween themed and I wondered if it was too soon for September use but that is what the store had in stock. I decided I should just be grateful they weren’t Christmas napkins.
