Mission Beach
Far North Queensland
Last year during our trip to Queensland
we spent a couple of days at Mission Beach
The unit we stayed in was right on the beach front
couldn’t have got any closer if we’d tried
The weather could have been a bit better
There was a fair wind blowing the whole time we were there
and for me the water wasn’t very inviting at all
We were only there a couple of nights
catching up with my brother who was visiting Cairns
so didn’t really do much
It is such a beautiful place (in the right weather)
and the rainforest close by (world heritage listed)
is a haven for the Cassowary
SO
If you do happen to be in Queensland please go and visit
I will be returning for a longer stay next time we are up that way
Here are a couple of links you might enjoy
‘Mission Beach is a small village along the Coral Sea in Queensland, Australia. The popular tourist destination of Dunk Island lies 4 km offshore’.
‘Mission Beach has some of the most picturesque beaches along the east coast of Australia, stretching fourteen kilometres in all. It is the closest mainland access to the Great Barrier Reef with world famous Dunk and Bedarra Islands just several minutes offshore.’

Your latest weather is torrential rain? Hooray for Victoria! Coz your firey stuff, catastrophic fire warning etc are so scary.Washing can always be dried inside draped across furniture etc…….Hope your rain keeps coming every few days – next lot here is for late Wednesday, drizzle etc.. for Thursday then rainy crap for Friday. Hmmmm … Friday's child is full of ……. another year, another January, another windy, humid and rainy Friday in Wellington …And the life goes on… (singing this bit…)Much care and loving huggles,Michelle and a (!) sound asleep darling Zebbycat

You really captured the motion of the wind! That place looks a little magical, a great place to unwind and reconnect with family.

What a breath of fresh air for me, as I sit here while the snow is coming down, down, down! Looks like a lovely spot to visit and stay in. And the beach…how I would love to be running along it barefoot right about now.
