🧶Knit something simple…..

A couple of weeks ago I was ā€˜thinking about it’ – then it was all change and I needed something easy and straightforward to take my mind of something else I was thinking about – so I started doing it……again. Which means there are now two plain sleeves to go with the patterned front and I have begun the back. So come the winter an unknown 4yr old will be cosy and warm.

I did also pick through the soft coloured leftovers again
I’m sure (well, more like hoping) that if I keep plodding along making these simple, easy to knit baby hats that maternity wards like for newborns, one day I’ll find my box of white, cream and pale coloured oddments is empty – still got a long way to go before that happens tho’

Also this month’s book club book arrived
Beautiful Ruins – Jess Walter
A very small 18x12cm ā€˜take along with you in your bag’ sized paperback……with very small print!

I’m wondering how many of the older members will actually read it because
it doesn’t seem to matter how near or far away you are
It’s still very small print!

There’s a waiting list at the library for both the audio and ebook versions šŸ™

Kat hosts Ā Unraveled WednesdayĀ .Ā which features Reading Crafting Chatting – you’ll find it all there – pop over, see what’s going on – maybe stay and say hello.

  1. before you finish the last hat you find you have run out and need to buy more, and then you buy a whole bag in a charity shop because it is a particularly good deal (and they are a good cause), and the new stash is bigger than before and…..

  2. When my twins were born early and very small, the hospital put little mini beanies on them. I think I still have them somewhere. It was so good to have them because I didn’t have a single thing small enough.

best of luck with the small print

    1. I’m certainly going to need it Kylie. .
How lovely that you still have those sentimental keepsakes. We forget how small newborns are and marvel at the strength of the even tinier premmies. You must have been strong yourself to care for two of them at the same time

    1. One way or another it’s got to be used up Cathy….I rather enjoy making something I know will be needed (and doesn’t take weeks and weeks to do so)

  3. I wonder if you could find the book in a large print ed. at the library?

Your photos are beautiful, from the banner at the top of your blog, straight on down!

  4. There are those moments when the hands need to knit something familiar in order to soothe the soul. You are doing so much good with the baby knits. I am anxious to know how you like Beautiful Ruins. I have always meant to read that book.
