It appears..

Or so I have been told …..by some of my children ….that more than one of these ‘sayings’ came out of my mouth when they were growing up

And just by coincidence this arrived from my sister….

…..if our mother were still here we’re thinking she’d be saying the same thing

Because – we definitely remember many of these ‘saying’s’ (plus the ones above) coming out of her mouth when we were growing up 😊😊

Were any of these heard in your house?
Or did you have very patient mothers?

  1. I may have said a few of these in the past myself
    And I’m pretty sure I’ve heard my daughter use a few herself lol

  2. I’ve probably heard most of them or variations of them.
    A couple of extras;
    “If you are going to fight, go outside and do it”.
    “If you are going to fight (over the tv channel), I’m turning it off.”

  3. Oh how many times have I heard all those sayings! Theyre the same all over the world. I told my children a few of them too. If they ever complained I’d say ‘well that’s what your grandfather used to say’. Now we laugh at them with the grandchildren who repeat some of them back to me.
    Our favourite is simply ‘OR ELSE’!

  4. My Dad was fond of reminding us that “money doesn’t grow on trees.” My Mom on the other hand was very gentle and loving and rarely lost her cool with the four of us. I, on the other hand, used to remind my children that “life isn’t always fair and fair is where you go when you want cotton candy.”

  5. My mum said most of these (or variations) I suspect I said a few, too. Mum was always on about people “breaking their necks” or else she was going to wring someone’s neck
