Seen in the supermarket…

It’s the same – just a little bit different
A bit like a child being offered ‘new food’.
I’m saying No
It just doesn’t look right
And at $4 each I’m thinking of other things I could buy instead

I didn’t go back round to see if anyone had bought one
I’m sorry but as I said before – Orange Cauliflower just doesn’t look right

  1. I have never seen an orange one, and I do love cauliflower. I make cauliflower soup sometimes . I am thinking this had help from humans, and that it is not naturall

    1. Coloured cauliflowers are all natural mutations, happeneg from time to time, and propagated. I once heard that all the purple ones com from southern Demnark. They do not taste very differnt, if at all – only us thinking they do will sometimes maken them actually taste carrotty, flowery or whatever. At least they add a decorative element to cooking.

  2. Hari OM
Amoresco, aka Sunset Cauliflower; we would pay the equivalent of AU$5 for one. It took me a long time to try Romanesco (the green one), but I actually loved it, so if one of these made itself available in this wee northern backwater, I’d give it a go! YAM xx

  3. That’s a fair price here. I wonder if it tastes different from white cauliflower. Rainbow carrots do have slightly different tastes by color.

  4. They all taste the same–and I don’t like any of them. It’s fun to try different kinds of produce, and we get so many varieties here in California that there is always something new to try. The orange cauliflower is good for those who use it as a veggie substitute for chicken. Like making orange chicken.

  5. Unfortunately my inner body doesn’t like the brassicas – and of late, I’ve found that if I stay away, I’m way better for it!
but don’t let me stop you eating them 🙂

  6. Sometimes orange cauliflower shows up at our local farmer’s market but I’ve never tried them. They do look a little odd.
