Day and Night…

Night and day, you are the one
Only you beneath the moon and under the sun
Whether near to me or far
It’s no matter darling where you are
I think of you
Night and day

Night and Day ~ Words & Music by Cole Porter (1891 – 1964)

I know there are many staterooms with their own balconies but really and truly the only place to experience the benefit of being close to the ocean is on the promenade deck of one of my favourite cruise ships

Some time or another when we feel it is safe to do so we will return

I am really missing my Vitamin Sea 😊

  1. Looks like a marvellous way to relax. And a young waiter to bring your every (well, almost every) desire. Hope you get back there very soon .
A cruise round the Greek isles perhaps ?

  2. We had a balcony on a cruise ship once and it a waste of money as we never used it. I agree, the deck is best but I can’t see myself cruising again.

  3. We signed up for a Viking cruise in 2019 for 2020 which was postponed due to COVID. It was postponed in 2021 and was a go for 2020. And then Russia decided to invade Ukraine. Our ship was going to St. Petersburg. Good grief! Those stops are cancelled but so much trouble to now redirect the cruise and the excursions. Sigh… I feel like this trip is cursed.

  4. Life is not yet normal, that’s for sure… of course cruise ships are big business and they just want the people to be able to cruise again, without too many restrictions.

  5. I love Ella Fitzgerald singing a Cole Porter song – its wafting around in my head now….teak decks and seafaring….well there’s a wish.

  6. My best friend and I did just that a few years back. Nothing at our destination matched the glory of just sitting and watching the ocean cruise by.

  7. Much as I love to travel we don’t plan on getting on a plane this year. River cruises are a big favourite of mine.
