Christmas Day lunch for the two of us was held here – Murrundindi Scenic Reserve.
Part of the The Great Forest National Park
Boxing Day lunch for the two of us was held here – on our back deck
Simple meals – in simple settings – just right for quiet reflective days
Joining in with Sue at Elephants Child
for a very lighthearted version of Sunday Selections
Both venues look delightful.
Thank you for joining us again – and I would happily join you in either of these spots. Perfect luncheon/cuppa havens.

All quiet on Christmas Day, apart from the birth of a lamb.
Today quite hectic as it is not a public holiday here, so the men came to fix uo the cooker hood…with all the noise and dust involved. Luckily, tomorrow is Sunday!

What a lovely porch to go to, most any hour of the day.

Yes, I agree the porch looks delightful – it’s been a tad cold across the ditch – but at least I wasn’t in the Tasman area where it was a hail storm or two. Yes there is sun today/ Sunday (27) but it’s not hot as hell…
And sometimes it’s is just oneself or regular family unit at your own home…

What lovely places to share a special meal! The weather looks amazing!
We had a lovely meals in our house on Christmas Day, and again today. It rained all day Christmas Day, the temperature was just above freezing, so nothing to shovel! It snowed last night and this morning we had a white blanket covering everything, so a bit of shovelling snow today, in the brisk clean air.

What perfect places for the festive season. I love summer xmas, the whole extended family used to try and get together on Boxing Day. When I was a kid it was a great swimming hole on the Ashburton River. Your deck setting looks fabulous.

I am not even going to try to spell the M word. The saplings where you had Christmas lunch are blackened? M had very bad fires but wasn’t that 2009? It sounds like you had a nice enough time, and I feel happy about that.

Love your Christmas setting. I was just telling my husband that I’d like to move to Australia for the winter. #chasingsummer

It was hard not to tell your husband he must be freezing. I still have trouble remembering the Southern Hemisphere! Love the pictures.

That looks to be a wonderful, quiet spot to have a relaxed Christmas Day, Cathy, No bustling about…very nice, indeed. As the saying goes…”Just what the doctor ordered….”
My day was spent very quietly…by choice….just me and my two furry mates…and each day following has been spent in a similar way…by choice. I think back to past Christmases when I “went the whole hog”…and fed the madding crowd….never again….those days are long gone.
Take good care….best wishes. 🙂
