I have saved himself’s orange juice bottles for use later in the season.
I do like the little birds but they don’t look as if they carry enough water to suit me. And I am frugal. Cheap.
We had watering spikes to go on the bottle so you could regulate drip speed, but they still tended to empty too quickly. These days i use the plastic bottles like funnels buried in the garden to get the water well below surface level so it doesn’t get evap’d off quite so quickly.
There always seems to be something new to buy!! Since Covid-19 took our income, we won’t be buying anything except what keeps body and soul together, and I think we can manage to scare up a few plastic bottles from the world around us to use in the garden!
oh but they are soooo pretty and elegant – those little birds – and if the light catches them, probably a whole lot of rainbows will appear đŸ™‚

The glass watering bird is so pretty. I’m trying to figure out the plastic bottle method though. I’ve never heard of it.

Not sure why I can’t see the pretty little birdies, lack of imagination??? The plastic bottle waterers have certainly helped in my garden.
