Ocean Views from well placed Benches 😊
In just a couple of weeks I’ll be able to take advantage of this view of Queen’s Beach in Bowen. Just a short walk from our accommodation – 4.5kms of sand stretching from the mouth of the River Don down to Cape Edgecumbe. The very same beach in my header. The one I’ll enjoy for several weeks 😎
Queens Beach – 28 July 2011
I first saw this plain and simple one a few years ago, I found it about an hour and a bit up the road from Bowen………right on the sandy beach at Monte’s Resort. A lovely place to lunch on a Sunday afternoon. They were hit hard by Cyclone Debbie and weren’t open last year……we’ll definitely be making the drive out there this year.
Montes Reef Resort – 25 August 2009
Drive a few hours down south west of Melbourne along The Great Ocean Road here in Victoria and you can see this one set on the shoreline near the lighthouse at Port Fairy – two of my ‘favourite things. right next door to each other.

It looks truly beautiful.
And a lighthouse is always icing on the cake.
Such wonderful long sandy beaches. I can feel the sand between my toes and hear the surf.
I love lighthouses too. Visited a couple in WA many years ago
With our present weather, even I am thinking of warmth somewhere else. Perhaps we will find it in England.
I agree. Well sited benches.
PS–Well sighted, too.
I just love Bowen beaches. I spent many leisurely weekends at Rose Bay, looking out across to Gloucester Island when I was working out at Collinsville. And for a brief time I managed a resort …Whitsunday Sands Resort on Horseshoe Bay Road, Horseshoe Bay – (long story attached to that short tenure!)
Nice – how can anyone not love the scenery of beaches or lighthouses.
