It was one of those afternoons.
One where we had nothing arranged or even a desire to arrange anything.
What to do – what shall I do ?
i could start pinning Doug together. As you pin you have to tuck the long fur inside the two pieces so it doesn’t get caught up in the seam. A bit time consuming but a necessary evil needed to be done before I begin to sew the pieces together.
I could knit – except I’m ‘between garments’ (meaning I’ve finished everything I had on the go so have nothing on my needles) and if I cast on something else I’ll just carry on with it and not get round to Doug.
I thought I might read – that’s always good to pass the time away. After all it was a cold winters Sunday afternoon and an hour on the couch with Kiera and a book would be good. I’d had loads of fun during the first six month of this year and read books like crazy. So I updated my ‘Books read in 2017‘ page (see up on the header) and then looked over what I’ve got sitting here. A couple from my Alphabet challenge and one a ‘pick a book – any book’ off the shelf.
Nope didn’t fancy any of them – I do have another on the go so best I finish it. It’s about a strange (in a nice way) family so I might get a post out of it.
And it looks like Doug’s big legs won in the end. I had some news yesterday that means I’m going to be seeing a lot more of Doug in the next few weeks. I’ll tell you about it another time 🙂
And how about you- what did you do this past Sunday afternoon?

I hope your sad news isn’t too too sad.
Well we drove, and drove and drove.
Pretty much what will be doing today and tomorrow as well
Can’t wait to see how Doug comes out
No not sad news Angela – actually some very ‘glad’ news :). A little boy is coming to visit his Gt Grandma in August 🙂
Doug is looking excellent.
We had a quiet afternoon. Some domestic duties, some reading…
Yes EC I’ll be looking at his arms later today 🙂
Oh, yeah, the thing with the fur in the seams, I had forgotten. Has been a long time since I have sewn ‘fur’ fabric. I hope it’s coming right along by now. 😀
So glad about your happy news—there is nothing quite so joyful as spending time with a young child!
It should be fun – keeping in mind he will only be 6mths old, have experienced his first flight, be amongst a crowd of rellies all wanting a cuddle and possibly be feeling miserable because he will be teething.
All ggod fun to look forward to 🙂
Can’t wait to see Doug finished . Lovely post and I love good news. X
Doug will take me a little while Dawn – my fingers aren’t quite as nimble as they used to be. And yes, the week certainly ended up being a ‘good news week’

I caught up with all the mail that needed to be responded to and updated all backlog and read five chapters of a book that I am reading which I hope to finish reading in the next couple of days.
It’s a good day when you can close your eyes and ears to everyone and everything around you and bury your head in a book 🙂
I knew it would be good news because you ended with a happy face and I knew you were going to have to concentrate on Doug to get him ready for someone special.
🙂 🙂 🙂
Doug is CUTE! Fun project. Love the image at the top of your post. Let’s see, what did I do on my Sunday…I read five chapters of my current book aloud to myself, watched a movie and knitted my way through an entire skein of cobalt blue mohair yarn. Lovely quiet Sunday.
Reading- Knitting- Movie going – all on a summer’s day :). No better way to pass the time 🙂
Thanks for dropping in Gram, I hope you are enjoying your break. Come back soon.
We had family visiting so our day was busy. Have a great week, Cathy.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the day!
Love the art you included Cathy :D)
How nice to bring Doug into being… He looks lovely and, by the sounds, will be for someone special. Good for you. Loved your post.
Cheers and keep warm!
