The animals went in two by two……Sunday Selections

The animals went in two by two – Hoorah Hoorah

The animals went in two by two – Hoorah Hoorah

The animals went in two by two – The Elephant and the Kangaroo

And they all went into the ark – For to get out of the rain!

It certainly wasn’t raining the day we went for a walk at Lilydale Lake so I’m not sure why most of the animals we saw were going by two by two 🙂

We did pass one independent large ball of fluff lead in mouth who seemed intent on taking himself for a walk!

There was another individual enjoying the sunny dry weather – a very bedragled Heron.  Having just come out of the lake ( if you look hard – or better still enlarge the photo – you can just see him near the round tussock of grass) he was doing his best to dry off in the sunshine

Then of course we came to the ‘old fellas’ who sail boats, perhaps I should give them their correct title – Members of the Lilydale Radio Yacht Club.  They are there having fun on Tuesday and Saturday mornings ‘playing’ with their very expensive toys.  Most of their boats were out of the water when we walked past but I’m sure you get the idea 🙂

And just as a record of distance here’s the half way marker

2.5 kms from go to whoa !!  Not a huge distance but enough when there is no shade from the sun

    1. There are oodles of them Marie. They don’t just sail the boats they actually race them – under a handicap syatem so even the smallest one gets a chance. Oh and they are remote controlled so would – I think – cost a pretty penny.
Yes a social gathering as well !

  1. Yesterday was a lovely day. Spent most of it outside feeding and watering pot plants.
    Today. Not so much!
What a difference a day makes

    1. EC – I think it’s light hearted rivalry from the joshing we’ve heard coming from their direction. I must look out some earlier photos for another post.
The fluffy dog was deceiving us all because if you lake a closer look at rhe photo it shows the walker actually has the lead in her hand. The dog is guiding and giving directions I think 🙂

  2. Thank you for this lovely walk. We have a couple of “old fella” clubs here too, one group flies model planes in the park next to what used to be a Victoria racecourse. In the city, but no longer used for horseracing.

    1. Wouldn’t it be fun to walk the same route and find out what each of us saw.
I must find out if there are any more ‘old fella’ clubs – apart from Men’s Sheds which do a wonderful job providing friendship and help for retired men trying to cope with that stage of their life

  3. I remember that song! Looks like a beautiful walk for you. Bettern than going up and down the street. I think the radio sailboats must be fun! If it gets the guys out in the fresh air, then good on them! Early Sunday morning here in Minnesota.

    1. Hello there Gram – as I said to Annie, after all the rain we’d been having it was the day we’d all looked forward to. I know you do more than street walking because you’ve taken us on a walk or two before. Must be time for another one eh??

    1. Summer? No way ! Not even a decent spring day – It was only about 19c that day lol. But it was so good to be outside after all the cold wet rainy days we’d been having.
Thanks for popping in – there are times when I can’t get to STLF. Not sure why. I’ll try again another way

    1. It is one place I don’t mind the council putting money towards. So many of the community use it we need to keep it safe for us all no matter what activity we’re involved in.
Freda, yours is another blog I have difficulty getting into. I’ll have to go to mr g. I think and try that way
