A while ago I mentioned the granddaughter who blossomed as she got older

Well 18 months on this is another ‘look at me now’ post.
She doesn’t have a slim build like a lot of her ‘trendy’ friends but what she does have is enthusiasm for a new pastime and that happy look that comes from a new found confidence. Her beautiful red hair is dark at the moment but that is because she likes the look rather than hiding behind the colour.

My mother and father were very keen dancers of all styles and watching at this inter dance school competition I wished they could have been there to see her. Sadly not possible as they have been gone for many a year now but how great is it that the same passion has emerged in another generation.

Not very often I do a bragging Grandma’ post so I do hope you enjoy these short videos I took from the sidelines. It seems she has found a style she enjoys and is comfortable with – ‘New Vogue’ – similar in ways to Old Time.
She is gorgeous, Cathy. She has a dancing spirit. Some are born with it and she was obviously. Poise, grace and incredible legs. Your parents must be smiling!
Loved it. You should share her dancing more often!

I am very impressed. She is incredibly graceful and light on her feet. Old Granny’s pride is justified.

I think she even surprises herself sometimes Andrew – lets just say she hasn’t always been that active. It’s amazing what can happen when one finds an interest that is just right for you.

The definition of joy! I loved those videos, and can see that she is an accomplished dancer. I danced years ago—don’t think I reached her level of excellence, but it was great fun!

My toes were tapping the whole time – could hardly stop jigging around to the music. Seeing all the couples made me realise how much I missed dancing. The Golfer only takes to the floor on very rare occasions

What fun to see your videosand I hope she loves that her grandmother brags about her. You get to do that even when they are not babies. Confidence from within shows in her dancing and on her face!

GG she is my oldest grandchild and even though it shouldn’t have happened I seem to have been closer to her than any of the other 10. Possibly because she was lacking in confidence and has a Mum who is a bit short of patience I felt she needed that little bit more attention.
Starting at this dance school a year ago has been the making of her 🙂

What a wonderful story and videos. She is so poised, and radiates joy! It seems to be harder work than ever to be true to yourself as a young person in this day and age – hats off to her.

It is so important for young folk to find a niche to help them stay grounded. So many drift and get into bad situations. I think she is blessed to have you for her granny.
