Winter weather often determines my mood. Unlike a few of the blog readers I’m not a fan of Winter and often get ‘the miseries’ when the days are dull and the hours of daylight get progressively less and less.
However after a very cold night in my area (3c /37f) yesterday turned out to be a corker. Dry and sunny with a brisk wind! Comfortable enough to hang washing on the line and potter about in part of the garden that has been neglected for a while.
Then it was time for a coffee (and craft) break on the back deck and who better to share it with than my shadow called Kiera. You’d be amazed at how warm and comfortable that little spot at the table can get when the winter sun beams through the PVC blinds. They are a great windbreak too.
By early afternoon the sun had moved to the front of the house which is where the lounge room is.
So you could say – that very much like the song John Denver used to sing – Sunshine makes me happy 🙂
Sunshine makes me happy also. The sun is trying to come out here. Dark and dreary days are something I struggle with. Wish our winters weren’t so long. I like snow around Christmas time but as I am getting older I take one day at a time.

I’m a big fan of sunshine too. Your day sounds like a perfect winter day – I especially liked the dry part of it. Awesome day for hanging out the sheets – I’ll bet they smelled wonderful. I see your lavender is doing quite well now! 🙂

We are in desperate need of a sun fix too. The sun gives me more energy as well.
Wishing you lots of sunny days this winter, Cathy.

Lovely. My father always said if you wanted to know the most comfortable spot in the house follow the cat. Wait until it settles and claim that spot.

Our weather is hot, muggy and explosive. Thunder storms are threatening to break out any minute. I can barely breath. We were spoiled by a very mild winter and now we are feeling summer though it isn’t officially here until next week, June 21st. I always liked John Denver and the song you shared is so lovely.
