Oh the things you think about on a Thursday lol
The Golfer has gone off on a 10 hour drive across The Western Highway to Adelaide today
and I wondered if he would see many Galahs eating the spilled grain on the road outside Kaniva.
A lot of them end up splattered on the roadside 🙂
I found this funny little poem about such a Galah
It starts:
I was a little pink Galah
Just sitting on the highway tar.
Just sitting, eating on the road
Wheat that spilt from someone’s load.

Hilarious crows! Best joke I’ve seen in days. Thanks for the laugh!

Glad you liked it Marie. I’m not sure where these things originate but as I’m a sharing person and usually get a laugh when ‘funnies’ arrive in our inbox I like to share them around as well 🙂

So Graham Kennedy was wrong about the call of a crow.

Possibly northern hemisphere crows make that sound Andrew. Oh I remember that night in 1975? When Graham thought our Victorian ones sounded more like ‘faark’ ( not sure if thats how you’d spell it) and wasn’t backward in coming forward to tell us all during that now infamous commercial 🙂

Hee hee! Too bad about the pretty pink ones – guess they don’t have a look-out that can say truck either!

the crows joke is funny, but still sad that so many birds get killed by vehicles. I haven’t seen any galahs for a long time.

We spent a few years in Adelaide during the 1990s and now you mention it River, I don’t remember seeing many either at that time. We are blessed here in Victoria with our variety of birdlife

It’s the slow build up to the punch line that always makes me laugh, love it Christine 🙂

Hopefully the Golfer doesn’t see any crows. I laughed out loud at the joke and the Boston bit was perfect. I am going to share this with my granddaughter. She could use a laugh while she recovers from surgery. Thanks for brightening my day.

You wicked woman, you had me going. So what killed all those poor crows?

Once upon a time I had a flock of about 30 guinea fowl, and I noticed there seem to be fewer of them as time went by. I thought owls or coons were getting them, and then I happened to go up to the highway one day for another reason and was shocked to see dead guineas lining the road — they had tried to fly across the highway and didn’t make it. It’s not funny the crows are being killed but crow joke is funny

You got me with that one. 🙂
And yes, here too we are getting calls for George and Margaret. Margaret who I ask. It’s endless.
