Just creeping in at the end of the month for Jude’s series of Bench memes – this month of April is for those with a view. I hope you enjoy my views of the sea today 🙂
In just a few months I will be able to take advantage of this view of Queen’s Beach in Bowen. Just a short walk from our accommodation – 4.5kms of sand stretching from the mouth of the River Don down to Cape Edgecumbe. http://beachsafe.org.au/beach/qld0950
There is a funny little one right on the sandy beach at Monte’s Resort just an hour and a bit up the road from Bowen. http://montesreefresort.com.au/
Drive a few hours down south west of Melbourne along The Great Ocean Road here in Victoria and you can see this one set on the shoreline near the lighthouse at Port Fairy – two of my ‘favourite things. right next door to each other. http://www.portfairy.com.au/
Can you tell I really need a trip to the coast lol
would love to just sit and look out over the ocean. Yup holidays by or on the sea are the best. Luckily for us we live in Australia so the sea is never far away

Cathy, your photographs are giving me ideas for short stories. Keep them coming. I hope you get some rest and can relax during your vacation and just enjoy these beautiful views.

We aren’t going away for a while yet Bethie – I just holiday in my mind sometimes lol. I did read the beginning of your written work – as you say it’s possible for the photographs to give you more ideas to work on. Hope so.

The lighthouse is quite a walk from the little town Melissa but well worth it. Ask Mr ‘G’ about Port Fairy and see what it is like down there.

Beautiful photos Cathy. There’s something about a bench for sitting and thinking, especially one by the sea. I love that people dedicate benches to loved ones who have died. I’d like one overlooking Port Phillip Bay when I go 🙂 Or in the Royal Botanical Gardens. Or any nice place, really.

Benches overlooking the beach and the ocean = bliss! I was fortunate to take a trip to Port Fairy (what a fab name for a place) and along the Ocean Road some years ago – what a lovely coastline. Thanks for these Cathy 🙂

You are right Jude it’s a lovely place to visit. This was taken a couple of years ago when we spent a relaxing weekend down there. Little known info is that the town was once called Belfast http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Fairy
