Want to build a snowman???

Summer returned to Melbourne this week.  Hot! Hot! Hot!

A phone call early this week to The Golfer’s aunt who lives in Nova Scotia determined it not to be quite so warm where she is.

We have been having o/night lows of about 15c/59f
they have been having o/night lows of about -15c/5f

And just by chance this fun image arrived the other day from a friend who lives quite close to her in the Annapolis Valley.  Right at that particular moment in time they had an awful lot of snow on the ground with a lot more forecast.

Later this month she is leaving to spend a few weeks in Florida and it would seem that right at that particular time as she looked out her window this was what her thoughts were.

I think there are a lot of other people who are thinking that as well 🙂

  1. haha. Very funny. Over here in Hawaii, the weather has been quite pleasant. Not too hot, not too cold. A little rain and a lot of sunshine. Nice, very nice.

    1. We had a lot of rain this evening – maybe a bit too much of the torrential thundery kind. Cooled it down s bit but it’s going to be hot again tomorrow.
Hawaii has a lovely climate – we’ve never had a bad day any of the times we’ve visited

  2. I will have a “little” to say on our weather along with photos on Friday on my blog. We are to reach a low of MINUS 34 oC tonight and Sunday it is even colder!!! We are further inland in Southern Ontario.

    1. Now that is a low one Gill. Another plus 30c coming up for us again tomorrow. Knowing your love of the cold and the white stuff I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say 🙂

  3. I can deal with the cold much more easily than the heat. In winter, I have hot flashes to keep me warm. Besides, it’s never that bad in VA, just ask all those migrants who moved here from up north.

    1. None of those warming moments for me these days lol.
I loathe being cold! Thyroxine for my faulty thyroid gland has helped but it doesnt work miracles. Yes I could put more layers on but once I’m cold inside that’s it and all the heating in the world won’t do me any good. I’ve even been known to take a bath to warm my body back up again.

  4. It’s cold here today. The wind chill was -14 when I left for work this morning. I haven’t been outside all day. I work a 13 hour day today, so it will be cold and dark when I leave. We don’t have an awful lot of snow, either. I’m okay with that. Makes the drive easier. I may have to take an e-cation to a sunny beach on my computer during my dinner break, though.

    1. Did you find somewhere nice and warm for your break GnG? Good to see you found your hat, that would have kept your ears warm going home 🙂

      1. Hi Cathy! I decided to visit Fingal’s Cave on my break. I guess I can’t call it a warm e-cation, but it was fun anyway. Fingal’s Cave is on an uninhabited island of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland and I am fascinated with the rock formation. They describe it as being inside a huge pipe organ and because I played a pipe organ for various churches for twelve years, I must say I agree with the description!!! Fun way to spend my break. I won’t leave a link, but you can look it up if you are curious. I may have to put it on my bucket list! And . . . I am so glad I found my hat.

  5. Lots of snow here also in Amherst Nova Scotia. Annapolis Valley is a very nice
place. We are having another storm Sunday and don’t know where they will put all the snow. We are supposed to get 35 to 40 cm.

    1. Do you find there is much difference in the city weather and that of the Valley Da? I’ve heard Aunt Dot mention being closer to the coast line eg Harbourville would have an effect.

      1. We’re on the coast so get more rain and slush; I think they get more drifting snow and white-outs. But the worst storms always seem to hit Cape Breton and the South Shore.

    1. I must have another look at where you actually are Jerry – i thought you were south enough for it not to get cold. But then ‘cold’ is relative to where we are isn’t it lol

  6. I remember being surprised when we went from spring in Illinois to fall in Australia/New Zealand. Not too hot over here right now. It’s supposed to be the rainy season in Hawaii.
