Wordless Wednesday – seen in my kitchen

This was a test drive tasting last year (2013)

2013 Ready to serve

Look here to see Aunty Pam’s recipe never fails 🙂
Certainly looked alright and definitely tasted alright

2013 Looking good enough to eat

So we wonder what this year’s will be like?

Hope they are good!

But then you know what they say
‘the proof of the pudding is in the eating’
I’m sure we won’t be disappointed – we’ll just have to wait and see 🙂

Wordless Wednesday occurs all over the internet each Wednesday,
when bloggers let photos speak for themselves.

  1. After successfully cooking a Christmas cake for almost thirty years, last year’s was a dismal failure and I haven’t made one this year. It’s too much anyway, with everyone stuffing themselves with pudding Sister makes from our grandmother’s recipe. I hope hers this year as good as your trial pudding.

    1. I’ve never managed to cook a ‘good tasting’ Christmas cake Andrew – so it’s best to give in and buy one. The Lions cakes were great but I haven’t seen any around for a while now.

  2. That looks good, I hope for you it tastes great this year! I have never made, methinks it is calorie loaded and I would be the only one here to eat it… I am beginning to look like I already ate the whole thing. 🙂

    1. Calorie loaded is the word – or rather dried fruit loaded which sort of is the same lol Just a little bit at a time is the way to go Sharon (with brandy cream or even just plain custard)

  3. Ah now, that looks so good and sugar plum fairies are dancing in my head, or something like that 😉 Suspicions confirmed, lol. Hello Cathy, my name is Denise and I am a photoholic. I actually laughed out loud at your comment. Thanks for the chuckles this evening. Visiting friends about an hour-and-a-half from here for a pre-Christmas get-together and I am taking the mince pies. The season has started.

    1. Oh yes Denise by next week it’ll be in full swing lol.
I’m not much of a cake maker but you might have planted the mince pie idea in my mind. That’s if there’s any jars left on the supermarket shelves.

  4. I just made my first ever Christmas cake this year. Next year I plan to try pudding. This looks so tasty I may need to steal the recipe. Emma

  5. When I was a child in England my mother made plum, or Christmas, puddings every year. Truth be told, it was really the custard over the top that I liked more than the pudding itself… this one looks good.

  6. Love it. I haven’t made a Christmas pudding in years. Christmas cakes took over. I make them for family and friends and it has reached crazy levels. I have made fourteen (various sizes) so far – and have another batch to go…
