Built to honour the ‘martyrs’ of the Battle of Sinop 1853
Built using all the money found in the dead soldiers’ pockets.

  1. Imagining the scene of people looking through dead soldiers’ pockets and then the people building this memorial for them from that money. It’s sad and eye-opening about living near a daily reminder of horror.
