L is for…………….

Working backwards we have arrived at the letter L in Mum’s Alphabet Challenge
And knowing me it could only stand for…..
Live Love and Laugh

This has been my mantra for quite a few years now

A long time ago I was having one of those ‘down’ days I am prone to
and saw this quote
“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.”

That sort of made realise I was not going anywhere living the way I was
So a change in attitude was needed and now I strive to:-

Live each day to the full
Love as much as I can – in any way I can
Laugh everyday

Doesn’t always work but I try:)

So how have I gone this week
Well a break in the wet weather has allowed me to get outside
To live in the fresh air for a while – to clear my head
To look at my surroundings and I love it.

I’m loving the water exercise classes at the Leisure Centre

~ ~ Not my class, but very similar ~ ~
~ ~ Not my class, but very similar ~ ~

Thinking I was getting in a rut I changed my day
Different instructor – different range of people
(not just ‘older’ ladies)
Learning different actions and routines
Loving every minute with new ‘more friendly friends’

Listening to the bouncy music needed to keep us on the go
(Well known songs – singing along in my head)
Looking at all the children (tiny tots and toddlers)
taking their ‘Aquatic Education Classes’

I burst out laughing
when all of a sudden I heard all these voices in the water around me
shouting out the chorus to this

Seems they feel it’s ‘their song’ as the instructor does just that!

Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
Long as you love me
It’s all right
Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
You got the power to turn on the light

Mum is hosting Alphabet Blogging
pop over and see what others have found for the letter L

Why don’t you join in next Friday – the letter will be K

    1. My children know me well – I have one with large hanging hooks. Given as a special gift one Christmas. Keeps the thought in mind.

  1. I knew about your Live Love Laugh, but I did not know the origin of that for you. I do like the other quote you shared . . . about getting what you’ve always gotten. Isn’t that a good one to remember!! I love water exercise classes. I don’t get the chance often, but when I have a free day, I try to get to one. I tend to go to the water aerobics for people with arthritis or post-op patients, but maybe changing it up would be fun, too. Sometimes I just go during open swim and tread water in the deep end for over an hour. I like the sound of your young group.

    1. You should try ‘deep water running’ using a special flotation belt. I was exhausted after my first class but it certainly beat trying to tread water in the deep end lol

  2. You have the right idea to keep moving. I used to do water aerobics along with step classes and regular aerobics. Always felt so good afterwards. Now all I do is walk for exercise because of my heart that’s what I am limited too. Always could be worse. Have a nice day.

    1. Have memories of trying step classes – sadly (and this is hard to say as one who learnt dance routines) I could not remember the routines. I’d be stepping up at the wrong time turning in an opposite direction and collapsing in a heap of giggles so gave that one up – more for the benefit of the other deadly serious class participants than mine lol

  3. “Bend me shape me…..:” you are too much fun. I would give anything to have a pool near me with friends to share the exercise. Your “L’s” are exceptional.

  4. Bend me Shape me by Amen Corner is the one I remember which shows you I have ‘lived’ through 1968.

When I went to aquatics class I had a really good ‘laugh’ trying to sit on the water woggle!

  5. I go to the pool three times a week now, but I don’t do the classes. We just keep moving in the water ourselves. It’s amazing how while we are in the water there is no pain. But getting out. Ohhh ahhh but we continue as it must be better than not doing anything at all. Well done on the mind change I agree. Do something different and you will get a different result.

    1. Yes Angela – anything is better than nothing. And if just a little does you good than just a little is what you do. It must take so much effort on your part to get there so good on ya for doing it !
