‘Will you walk into my parlour?’ said the Spider to the Fly,
”Tis the prettiest parlour that ever did you spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show when you are there.’
‘Oh no, no,’ said the little Fly, ‘to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again
The Spider and the Fly
Mary Howitt (1799 – 1888)
Thats what came to mind the other morning when I went out the back door and spied what appeared to be a wall hanging where there is no wall!
The spider who constructed this must have been busy during the night because I certainly didn’t notice it the day before. These are a few photos taken – not the best because of the position of the sun and a camera that needs replaced. Just to give you an idea of the skills these tiny little creatures must have to be able to construct something as fine as this.
